Salon's hit piece on Rand Paul - an analysis by The Liberty Bard

By the headline of this article I could tell that is was another hit piece on Libertarianism. As such I felt the need to read the article, dissect it and point out their lies and flagrantly wrong economic analysis. Any comment in quotes is added by me. Commentary noted in bold is my response to their idiotic claims. JJ The Liberty Bard.

10 reasons Americans should be wary of Rand Paul’s libertarianism — especially millennials (Hear that millennials? Don't listen to those mean old libertarians who want to take over the government and then leave you alone)

He's right that America's youth is disaffected, but it's precisely his economic policies that are responsible (I'm not exactly sure how many of Rand Paul's economic policies have been implemented by the Obama administration since 2008 but it's your lie you can tell it however you want to)

This article originally appeared on AlterNet.

Commentary: Obviously the liberals are scared of Rand Paul's popularity. His message of liberty and individual freedom paired with smaller government is not something that their controlling little statist minds could live with. How would they be able to force others to do what they want without the implied threat of the force of government to back them up?

A Libertarian at the helm would be their worst nightmare. The Liberals believe that government is the cure to all of society’s ills, regardless of the fact that most of the problems that they are trying to solve were created by them in the first place. The title of the article tries to place the blame for the failure of liberal policies on the libertarian philosophy. It goes to show when you have no valid ideas of your own your only play is to demonize people like Rand Paul who have actual solutions to our country's problems by advocating and implementing free market reforms and principles. So away we go...
AlterNet

Republican Senator Rand Paul has been making a big play for millennials lately, most notably by taking his civil liberties pitch to colleges around the country. Paul has got the right idea when he says his party must "evolve, adapt or die" (although I think the first two are virtually the same thing)(actually one starts with an "e", the other starts with an "a"). Katie Glueck of Politico wrote that "The Kentucky senator drew a largely friendly reception at the University of California-Berkeley as he skewered the intelligence community."

Sen. Paul spoke of "dystopian nightmares" and added that "your rights, especially your right to privacy, are under assault." Paul also said he perceives "fear of an intelligence community that’s drunk with power, unrepentant and uninclined to relinquish power."

Virtually all of the other politicians taking that stand come from the left side of the political spectrum. They include figures like independent socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders and Democratic senators Ron Wyden and Mark Udall. Rand Paul is not like these other defenders of civil liberties.(No he is an evil Libertarian who doesn’t believe it is the government business to fix the problems that they created or police themselves – crazy right?)

Rand Paul, like his father, prefers to package his fairly old-school brand of economic conservatism under the trendier name of "libertarianism." That’s not just a labeling change. It also means Paul has paired his retrograde economic ideas with a very outspoken stance against militarism and the espionage state. It’s a mixture that Paul hopes can make inroads with groups that are not traditionally Republican voters.

Commentary: According to them Libertarianism is new and trendy, just a new way to package old conservative ideas under a new banner. The reality is that Libertarianism is based upon the principle of a non aggression policy and follows Austrian economic theory as opposed to Keynesian economic theory. There are several very intelligent economists such as Murray Rothbard, Ludwig Von Mises and Frederick Hayek who have written extensively on Libertarian theory since the early 20th Century. Also Henry Hazlitt wrote some great books based on Libertarian theory as well.

Without State paid economists and politicians advocating Keynesian economic theory the State would lose it's ability to print money for free and give it to the big banks for close to zero interest and then loan it out to us plebs at higher rates. The State would lose its ability to fund wars and police the rest of the globe without being able to rely on a fiat currency where money is not backed by gold and can be printed by a Central monetary authority at a moment’s notice. This is the Statists biggest fear that they would lose their monopoly over money and not be able to buy votes through welfare programs and fund their never-ending wars without raising taxes on the population. This is the real reason why they are afraid of the Libertarian philosophy.

Paul’s play for millennials was almost inevitable (I know right, he dares to try to spread the message of Liberty to the younger generation). As a recent Pew study reported, that generation’s disaffection with the two-party system appears to be at record levels. (not to mention everyone else) Fifty percent of millennials polled said that they do not associate themselves with either party, (the other 50% were too stoned to answer at all) which is the highest percentage recorded thus far. It’s also a 10 point jump from their equivalent age group’s level of political affiliation only seven years ago.

But Rand Paul gravely misunderstands the nature of that political disaffection. Yes, millennials feel alienated toward political and other institutions. They have a right to feel that way. As Joshua Holland says, millennials didn’t abandon these institutions. The institutions abandoned them.

But Rand Paul and libertarianism are not the answer. (What was the question again?) His economic strategy can be summed up in a quota used for one of his bills: "remove the shackles of big government by reducing taxes, regulations, and burdensome union work requirements." (Oh the humanity!)

In other words, more of the same conservative philosophy that got us in this mess in the first place. (Wait what?) Here are 10 reasons why millennials should be extremely wary of the senator from Kentucky.

Commentary: The powers that be understand Ron Paul's and his son Rand’s popularity amongst the millennials and it scares them. They know if people truly understand Libertarian philosophy it would take over the system quickly so they distort the Libertarian message every chance they get to confuse people. The fact is, most people just want to be left along to live their life and pursue their own interests. This is the heart of the Libertarian message and it scares the daylights out of the Statists, the people who love to use the State to impose their own philosophy upon the rest of us.

They say that the millennials feel alienated by the two party system, which is kind of a broad statement. They should feel alienated as should we all, as the State has not represented the people’s interest in many years! The real issue is that the younger generation has access to more information than any generation throughout history has ever had. They are beginning to awaken and see through the lies of both the Neocons and the Liberals. They understand the horrors of war and the lies our State has told us to justify said wars in the past. They don't have to accept the false narrative promoted by the mainstream media as they have access to the alternative media outlets which provide a different interpretation of world events that the powers that be promote through their relentless propaganda machinations.

They are beginning to understand that War is the Health of the State and that they have been sold out and put into debt chains by the ruling political parties of the last 50 years. If you aren't angry about our political system then you simply are not informed. They are becoming informed and they are angry and they are looking for alternatives. As Ron Paul has stated on many occasions, Freedom is Popular.

The Statists are scared that Rand Paul's real message is going to catch on and we may actually get a President in office who favors the reduction of State power. First they ridicule you then they attack you right? It reminds me of one of my favorite sayings about Libertarian's - We want to take over the government and leave you alone.

This hit piece reeks of desperation and is a good sign for those of us who really want to speak truth to power and expose the liars and economic morons for what they are - naked emperors.
1. His philosophy of deregulation created your jobs problem.
Rand Paul loved to preach the gospel of deregulation. He went so far as to proclaim that Obama was putting his "boot heel" on the neck of—get this—British Petroleum. Why? Because BP was being asked to bear part of the cost for the oil spill it created.

That’s right. Rand Paul believes "regulation" is evil, even when it’s only asking a reckless private corporation to clean up its own messes.

Wall Street deregulation crashed the economy in 2008. As a result, the millennial generation is entering the job market at the worst time in modern history. Millennials are facing record levels of unemployment and under-employment. What’s Rand Paul’s solution? More of the same.

Commentary: Here they refer to deregulation as a great evil. The markets must be regulated and deregulation is the cause of the of the "jobs problem." Please reread the above and explain to me the leap in logic to correlate deregulation with the loss of jobs in this country. There are many reasons for the loss of jobs in this country but the main reason is that we allowed our manufacturing base to erode through trade agreements enforced through the WHO (World Health Organization) a branch of the UN. These trade agreements like NAFTA were signed by prior administrations and I don't see how deregulation of markets has anything at all to do with our job problem. Our current administration is currently in the process of signing another trade agreement which is referred to as "The NAFTA of the East" which is a trade pact with Asian countries that will continue the gutting of the US manufacturing base.

The attempt to place the blame on deregulation is rich when our own attorney general announced that we cannot even attempt to hold our banks accountable as they are too big and it may cause a systematic crash if we were to hold them accountable. Is this the type of regulation that these Statists think is so important?

Wall Street deregulation did not cause the crash of 2008. The crash was caused by the Federal Reserve's monetary policy. They printed too much money into the system which caused a boom in the mid 2000’s and then naturally a bust occurred in 2008. For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction and this was the reaction to loose Fed monetary policy.

I don't want to put words in Rand's mouth, but here is what I believe an accurate Libertarian policy would be concerning regulation. First, I believe that the too big to fail banks would be broken up similar to AT&T in the 1980's. This would take away their monopoly privileges and force them to compete against each other. Second, I think we would want to end the free money party held by the Fed which gives the big banks a competitive advantage and allows them to make money hand over fist practically risk free(too big too fail, remember?). I say risk free because if they do make a mistake again they know that they will either be bailed out or bailed in. (see Cyprus)

These two policy changes alone would force competition and allow the failed banks to go bankrupt. This would result in the money flowing to the well run banks, not the corporate crony banks that have bought this administration. Thus, there would be less need for regulation of this industry as the free market forces would allow the good banks to succeed and the bad banks to fail and the consumer would choose which banks that they would affiliate with and that would determine how banks would fare. Libertarianism at its core is about giving the power to determine the success or failure of a business back to the consumer by allowing them to vote with their wallet.

One more point on regulation. Is this guy really serious? Have we not seen the most fines against banks in the past five years for dishonest an unethical behavior (some might even go so far as to call it fraud) and yet not one executive has gone to jail? Give me a break, the regulators are part of the problem and the current regulatory structure is not effective. If you don’t agree with that statement then please ask Jon Corzine what he thinks about regulations. (Actually I’m sure he loves them as the lax regulations allowed him to get off scot free after stealing billions of his depositors monies. But we can’t have big time Obama bundlers going to jail now can we?)

The fact is the fault lies squarely on the Obama and Bush administrations for allowing these banks to make bad bets and then bailing them out thus creating a moral hazard that no amount of regulations will solve. More regulations will only decrease the ability of smaller banks to enter the banking business to compete against these Goliath's like JPM, BOA, WF and HSBC and allow them to continue their monopoly practices.

Great read by Michael Synder on the deindustrialization of the US

2. He doesn’t believe in jobs programs.
Those of us who are fighting for jobs programs and infrastructure investment—two things that would help the millennial generation significantly—have a fierce opponent in Rand Paul. Paul believes government spending is inherently bad, and tax cuts are inherently good. There are jobs proposals that target millennials for assistance. Rand Paul is against them.

Commentary: Government does not and never has created jobs, any government job is paid for through taxation, therefore it is a net negative to the economy. Government’s only role is to uphold the law. Job programs are a way to buy votes. It is not the responsibility of the government to ensure full employment, nor should it be the mandate of the Fed. Yet the Fed and the State are constantly talking about what policies they can enact to get to full employment.

There is only one way to increase employment and that is by providing an economic environment where people are free to pursue their dreams by starting their own business. Job growth has always come from small business not big corporations. The Statists have created so many barriers to entry in today's environment that it's very hard for someone to step into any existing market and create a new business to compete against the established market leaders. Why? Red tape, regulations, bureaucracy, high taxes, payroll taxes, licensing, continuing education, diversity training, Sarbanes-Oxley, the list goes on and on but I think you get the idea.

So they are advocating "job programs to help the millennials". Why should the government pick winners and losers? Why should we advocate for programs that only help one segment of society? Yet once again, they create the problems then offer up solutions, to get the sheep to follow their dastardly delusions.

Infrastructure investment is another boondoggle. The State will always go over budget, will enrich their preferred companies which always provide some type of incentives back to their political friends either directly or indirectly. After all that is why they get the contract and not someone else.

The Rothbardian solution, which is what I would advocate for would be to privatize the infrastructure system completely. Read "For a New Liberty" for a detailed description of how old Murray would handle this issue. It's not as complicated as you think. (You can find an audio version of For a New Liberty on www.mises.org )

3. He thinks "tax cuts" create jobs.
There’s a simple answer to that, once we remember that the wealthy and corporations are paying lower taxes than at any time in modern history.

So where are the jobs?

Rand Paul’s solution is to eliminate the income tax altogether. That would be a red letter day for billionaires, millionaires and corporations. It would spell the end of vital services for the rest of us, in everything from public health to military defense.

Create jobs? Not so much.

Commentary: Wow talk about an alarmist response, the end of vital services! Does this author not realize that we did not even have a progressive Federal tax until 1913 and before that throughout the 1800's we had incredible economic growth that was off the charts compared to all other nations throughout history? I wonder if the author knows that the Fed income tax started off as a temporary 1% tax? I wonder if the author understands that the amount of Federal tax paid by us is fairly close to the amount of interest the US pays the Fed every year? Some people even go so far as to think that it wasn't a coincidence that the Fed was created at the same time as the Federal Income tax.

Here again they go straight for the "evil rich people" angle. Oh those rich bastards and corporations aren't paying their fair share. Even if we collected 100% of everything these rich people and corporations made it still wouldn't be enough to pay off our current debt along with the unfunded liabilities we owe. Estimates range from $60 trillion (with a T) to over $200 trillion (with TWO L's). Here is a really good video by Tony Robbins that explains the real tax situation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jboTeS9Okak

The reality is if we were to eliminate the Fed income tax, the SS and Medi tax and put all that money back in people's paychecks, this country would immediately experience an economic boom of epic proportions. But then how could we get the money to pay for government? There are a couple of options. We could make payments voluntary. If you want to support the troops then go right ahead and support them with your own money. If you feel the need to help out the less fortunate then go right ahead support them with your own money. People would have to use their own money instead of someone else's money however to fund their pet projects. I know right, what a novel concept. But let’s not forget how much more disposable income people would have if all of those taxes were added back to the bottom line of their paycheck.

Personally I believe that an appropriate libertarian response would favor a tariff system that did not favor any industry over any other. I would try to replace the 16th amendment (income tax) with a tariff amendment that stated a flat rate would be paid on any product imported into the US regardless of whether the company was American or not and that the rate could be changed, however it could not be modified in any other way to favor one industry or company over another. We have the largest consumer society the world has ever seen, we should force other countries to pay for the privilege of selling their products to us. The United States biggest strength at this moment in time is our purchasing power.

This would have two main effects. It would make Chinese junk that we buy billions worth each year much more expensive which would reduce the trade deficit. It would also force American manufacturing to come back to America to avoid the tariff and eliminate the competitive advantage gained by cheap third world labor.

4. Those "burdensome union work requirements" gave us Saturdays and Sundays off.
Without unions we would still be working six or seven days a week with no overtime pay. The weekend as we know it wouldn’t exist if we lived in Rand’s world.

Neither would paid vacations, the minimum wage, health and disability benefits, and quite a few other things a lot of working people count on to help them get by.

Commentary: Again they just blast a lie straight out into the internet and hope it sticks. Does anyone really believe that without unions we would still be working six and seven day weeks? Also apparently unions gave us paid vacations and other perks. Of course the free market had absolutely nothing to do with these workplace improvements. I mean there could not have possibly been any company that would have offered a better work environment in order to attract and keep more quality employees could there? What a complete joke this statement is and just shows the appalling lack of knowledge of how the real world works. This is nothing but a straight up lie that has been parroted so many times that people actually believe it.

Free market competition creates productivity increases which in turn create an environment where we don't have to work as hard. Then we decide as workers, hey you know, me and my family are no longer on the verge of starvation and my quality of life has improved to the point where I am willing to make a trade off. Rather than working 7 days a week and having no extras like paid vacations, health insurance, 401k's, I'm willing to trade some of the money I am making for these perks.

Employers were not forced by unions to make all of these concessions. The free market forced employers to make these types of concessions in order to keep quality workers and remain competitive. But the point that these economic morons miss, is that the workers had to give up some pay in order to get these privileges. That is how it works in the real world. It cost a business money and productivity for them to pay for a worker's health insurance and other perks therefore they have to reduce the salary in order to cover the extra costs.
5. Civil rights for African Americans and other minorities wouldn’t exist.
Rand Paul believes businesses have the right to discriminate against minorities, or against pretty much anybody, because he thinks that’s part of their First Amendment rights.

The First Amendment, as most of you may know, reads as follows: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

There’s nothing in there about "businesses that want to force women like Rosa Parks to stand at the back of the bus when there are empty seats in the front of the bus," or "lunch counters that won’t serve black folks."

No, the First Amendment doesn’t say that. But Rand Paul thinks it does. He also says he would’ve voted against the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Here’s a newsflash for Sen. Paul: Millennials come in all races, religions, genders and sexual orientations. They value their rights just as much as Americans of other generations do.

Commentary: This is obviously a tough subject to defend as it is easy for Statists to attack you based on your response to this question. But you know what? I'm tired of anyone who disagrees with policy being labeled racists for pointing out the obvious. The obvious point to make is that the Jim Crow laws, were just that, they were laws put into place by the State. The State is the one that wrote laws permitting slavery and discrimination. Therefore the only thing needed to end these disgusting violations of natural human rights was to end these discriminatory laws. That's it. It was not necessary to codify a new set of laws that gave special privileges to any group of people within our society.

Now let's think about if this were to happen today. Let's say we allowed businesses to discriminate against someone based on their skin color or sexual preference for instance. Let's say that some bar in the middle of Redneckville had a sign on the door disallowing certain people from entering their establishment. How quick would that sign be flashed all over twitter and instagram? Would you eat there? Would your friends eat there? Would anyone patronize an establishment like that? Would people organize to stand out front with signs to let others know that they shouldn't give their money to an establishment that discriminates in such a fashion?

Well maybe some other backward rednecks might still patronize that business but that probably wouldn't be enough for them to pay the bills and soon they would be out of business wouldn't they? This is the Libertarian argument as to why a bill that gives favoritism of one segment of society over another is wrong. The actions of individuals will use the free market to ensure that businesses who want to discriminate against any group within society will know that their disgusting and immoral views will not allow them to operate their business at a profit.
6. He wants to eliminate Social Security.
Because, you know, the "free market" has done so well in protecting Americans’ financial security when they’re disabled or elderly.

Many millennials are collecting Social Security survivor benefits, like Rand Paul compatriot Paul Ryan did. Or disability benefits. Or they have parents and grandparents who are collecting retirement benefits.

Most millennials will live to collect those benefits themselves—if Rand Paul doesn’t get to them first.

Commentary: The truth is social security is a Ponzi scheme. It relies on the contributions of newer participants to pay for the funds due the long time participants. That is the very definition of a Ponzi scheme. The money that has been paid by all of us into said SS fund has already been taken out of that fund and replaced with IOUs. In other words, the money that is mandatorily taken out of your paycheck before you get it and promised to you upon retirement has already been spent on something else. A system structured like that is doomed to fail eventually. Rand Paul knows this as do most Libertarians.

The problem is when Russia and China finally get together and end the Petrodollar system which has enable us to spend beyond our means for decades it will cause all of the US dollars held in reserve funds in different countries throughout the world to flood back into the US Treasury at once and they would have to be paid in full. This will cause the Fed to print money like crazy to pay for all of these returning dollars and it will create a high level of inflation. When this happens the Fed Gov will not be able to meet it's obligations to pay SS, Medicare and other welfare programs. Or if they do the money paid will not be sufficient to cover the rising prices of all goods. This will create massive riots and unrest throughout America. Austrian Economists and Tea Party peeps understand this. Therefore we want to change the system before it's too late. It's really that simple.
7. He wants to eliminate Medicare, Obamacare, and even the private insurance you get through your employer.
"The fundamental reason why Medicare is failing is why the Soviet Union failed," said Sen. Paul. "Socialism doesn’t work."

Unfortunately for Paul, Medicare is not failing. It has lower overhead than private insurance, lower cost than private insurance, and a lower rate of inflation than private insurance. It is the most successful, and the most popular insurance program in the country.

But as flawed as it is, private health insurance is critical to a lot of people’s physical and financial health. Rand Paul’s so right wing he doesn’t even like that. "We need to get insurance out of the way and let the consumer interact with their doctor the way they did basically before World War II," said Paul. (A lot of people didn’t interact with doctors at all before World War II; the morbidity and mortality statistics show it.)

Speaking as an ophthalmologist, which he is, Paul also said this: "If you think you have the right to healthcare, you are saying basically that I am your slave." Sen. Paul is not just a conservative, he someone with a poor grasp of concepts like slavery. Healthcare providers are in fact paid under all systems of public and private insurance. They are also free to change professions, take a day off, set their own schedules, and do any number of things that are not associated with the practice of slavery.

Millennials need to know that medical care will be available when they need it. That’s not just something they want. It’s a right.

Commentary: First off, medical care is not a right. Please show me in the constitution or the bill of rights where free or reduced medical care is listed. Second, Medicare is failing as the unfunded liabilities due on the future bill for Medicare recipients is in the tens if not hundreds of trillions of dollars. This is another political boondoggle, a way to buy votes and is not sustainable long-term.

Don't you love how the economically illiterate authors of these types of articles always make blanket statements like "Medicare is not failing". It is the most successful, blah, blah blah. They give no thought to the future obligations they just focus on what is going on right now which is backed by phony money. Just look at a pie chart of the Fed Gov spending and see how much of the pie Medicare and SS occupy. It's a large part of the pie.

The Libertarian view is that we should allow doctors to charge patients whatever price they would like to charge and to even provide indigent care if they want to. But instead, if they even opt to participate in Medicare they are told by the Statists what they have to charge for each procedure. This of course causes many doctors not to even want to participate in the program which limits the patient’s choices of doctors.

At its base this is simply another redistribution scheme where the people who worked hard and saved money for retirement are forced into a system where they are charged more money that their poorer contemporaries. The rich subsidize the poor, yet once again. Anytime, you see that it is mandatory to join a certain program then it is obvious that the program could not stand on it's own economically without force.

In essence the Libertarian position is to allow doctors to choose what they want to charge, allow consumers to choose which doctors they want based on a myriad of factors including cost and take out the damn middlemen who are driving up the cost. Ever notice how you can't find out how much a medical procedure will cost until after it's over and you get the bill? That's what poker players like to call "a tell".
8. He wants to eliminate Roe v. Wade and have a woman’s right to choose decided by politicians at the state level.
Said Paul, "I would introduce and support legislation to send Roe v. Wade back to the states."

Why? So that decisions about what a woman does with her body can be made by politicians like that guy in Virginia wanted mandatory transvaginal ultrasounds for any woman who wanted to terminate a pregnancy?

It may come as a surprise to Sen. Paul to learn that a great many millennials are, in fact, women.

The Supreme Court has established that a woman’s right to choose is constitutionally protected. Since then that right has been eroded in a thousand different ways at the state level. Rand Paul would remove this right forever, turning this fundamental principle of autonomy into a campaign issue to be decided by right-wing career politicians.

Way to go, "Mr. Civil Liberties." And about that …

Commentary: If the issue were given back to the States, then each State could determine how they would handle the abortion issue based upon what the people in that particular state voted for and people would have the option to either relocate to a different state or travel across state lines if they choose to have an abortion and wanted to go to a state that allowed this. This is consistent with our Constitutional mandate and it's just a way to put some power back in the hands of the States as opposed to the Federal government.

People have a natural right to do with their body what they please. People also have a right to council against bad choices that may come back to haunt them later in life. I personally would never council anyone to get an abortion and would advise strongly against it however if someone chooses to get an abortion they are the one's who in my belief will have to answer to God. They don't have to answer to me.

I'm all for anything that takes power away from Fed Gov, even if I don't necessarily believe that States will make any better choices, it's truly the same system but I think the Libertarian philosophy supports decentralization at every level and on every issue.
9. He’s not as strong and advocate for civil liberties as he seems.
At least Rand Paul is uncompromising in his defense of civil liberties, right? Well, not so much. Consider this quote:
"I’m not for profiling people on the color of their skin, or on their religion, but I would take into account where they’ve been traveling and perhaps, you might have to indirectly take into account whether or not they’ve been going to radical political speeches by religious leaders. It wouldn’t be that they are Islamic. But if someone is attending speeches from someone who is promoting the violent overthrow of our government, that’s really an offense that we should be going after— they should be deported or put in prison."

"It wouldn’t be that they are Islamic," says Rand Paul. But it’s clear that he’s only talking about a certain kind of terrorism. A lot of Tea Party leaders have "threatened the violent overthrow of the government." Does Rand Paul think "they should be deported or put in prison"? Or are his brand of civil liberties only for white conservatives?

Commentary: Here they try to link Tea Party leaders to terrorism which has become a common meme over the past several years. Do you know of any Tea Party leaders who have advocated and threatened the violent overthrow of the govt? The one's I listen to are advocating for a peaceful revolution though the spreading of our ideas and ideals. Most of us realize that if we tried to go against Fed Gov in a violent conflict, not only would it turn public opinion against us, but we would lose and lose bad. We are not the ones advocating theft and force, they are. Don't forget that.

As far as the profiling question goes, it's only common sense to profile, which is why Israel does it. If it works for Israel, which it obviously does, a small country surrounded by enemies, then it should be good enough for us. This is another prime example of a desire to be PC getting in the way of common sense and creating a burdensome process for flying in the form of the TSA. Is he really arguing that it makes sense to pay down children and grandmothers in airport lines?
10. He’s picked the wrong oppressor.
Rand Paul’s brand of libertarian believes that "liberty" is freedom from an oppressive government. (Hint - It is) But in a democracy the government is us. (Tell it to Snowden and Manning) The real oppressors in today’s economic and political system are the corporations which increasingly dominate all aspects of our public and private lives. (Wait what what?)

Commentary:

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THIS STATEMENT RIGHT HERE INVALIDATES EVERYTHING THIS MORON HAS TO SAY.

This conclusion is just completely insane. Yes the oppressors are not the different alphabet agencies of the Fed Gov who have been committing abuses against the American people by the power we vested in them. No the real enemy is corporations like Google, Disney, Apple, Microsoft, IBM, Dell, Pixar, Boeing, GE, Lockheed Martin and all the other companies that are listed on the Dow and the S&P, you know the one's who want us to buy their products?

In this author’s view "the enemy" is not the different departments of the State like the CIA and the NSA who collect our emails and phone calls and assassinate people. It’s not the rogue politicians trying to take away American’s rights to bear arms. It’s not Health and Human services forcing us to buy insurance. It’s not the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy of inflation that steals our hard earned money stealthily and gradually so the majority of boobus Americanus don’t notice. It's not the police state or the bureaucratic departments like the EPA, who fine people thousands for cutting trees in their own back yard or the IRS who investigates and fines people with a different political view then they. No it’s the big bad corporations who are the "real oppressors in today’s economic and political system". Does the author really believe this?

Corporations are not the enemy. Why? As consumers we can vote with the power of our purse if we don’t like a particular corporations policies or more importantly their products or services. What is he even talking about here? Notice how the author doesn’t name any particular corporations, just corporations in general. Methinks this author has been watching a little too much Batman. I guess he must be referring to Bain right?

RESIST THE IDIOCY - NO MATTER WHAT!!!

Rand Paul doesn’t have much to say about that. (no one with half a brain has anything to say about the evil corporations being the oppressors because they aren’t!) We applaud his stand against drone murders by the US government, but where is his stand against the kind of espionage Amazon and other corporations could use through the use of unregulated drones in the United States? (haha rofl – this is the argument?) We admire his stand against the NSA, but where is an equally courageous stand against invasions of privacy by corporations like Google? (Here I thought it was the NSA forcing Google to give them access with the threat of force, guess I got that one backwards) (For more on that topic, see our interview with Yasha Levine.)

Rand Paul would have us turned against the "oppression" of the Democratic process, while turning us over to the real oppression of the Corporate State. That’s not fighting for liberty. It’s fighting for corporations. (How so?)

Underneath all the freedom jargon, Rand Paul’s pushing the same kind of economic conservatism that has increasingly dominated our political discourse over the last 40 years. (So it’s not progressive policy that got us into this mess? Ok got it.) He’s resolutely opposed to all of the civil rights advances of the last 50 years, and to any of the government interventions that could make things better for millennials and other Americans now. (Because government solutions always work so great.)

Rand Paul wants more of the same tax cuts (giving them back their own profits) we’ve already given to his billionaires (only the Republican ones though, apparently like the evil Koch brothers) and corporations (again not sure which corporations, but everyone knows corporations are evil). He wants more of the deregulation that ruined the economy in 2008 (not true) and has caused so much harm to the environment. (So deregulation caused an oil spill, who knew?)

How’s that working out for you? (It’s not going very well but that is due to the current administration’s socialist tendencies, not to anything Rand or any other Libertarian has done)

Feel free to admire Rand Paul’s stands on civil liberties and military action (I will and I do), as selective as those stands may be (yes because he has been such a flip flopper). Then look for politicians who represent the full spectrum of your moral and economic beliefs (Just make sure that they are socialists). Better yet, become those politicians (but read Rothbard, Hazlitt and Von Mises first please). We need your talents and your energy, to make right what previous generations (in the Paul family and elsewhere) have gotten so tragically wrong.

Commentary: Welcome to 1984. Rand Paul is now responsible for all the mistakes of the Obama and Bush administrations. I guess the whole blame Bush thing got old so now we are going to blame Paul. And don’t forget war is peace, freedom is slavery, truth is lies, cowardice bravery, ignorance strength, debt is prosperity, and honest politicians are now quite a rarity.

Publisher’s Note: Jim Klein has been a friend of mine and this site for years and he is one of the smartest observers in the individualist abolitionist milieu out there. He always makes a clear and concise case for why life should triumph over death and peace is a better solution than government subsidized and incentivized eternal conflict. Enjoy. -BB

“Hey Joe, may I borrow your lawnmower?”
“Sure Tom, there’s half a tank of gas in it.”
There.  That’s a loan.  Joe loaned Tom his lawnmower.  It was an agreement.  It was about something physical–the lawnmower–but the loan itself was just a mental act.  It was an act of consent between two volitional men.
There’s nothing else to it.  If Tom fills up the tank, then it was a profitable loan for Joe.  If he empties the tank, then it was a loss for Joe.  But neither profit nor loss has anything to do with the nature of the loan.  We can add terms to the loan–Tom will sharpen the blade, fill the tank, pay some money, use it for one day–but none of those terms change what the loan is…a mutual agreement, a promise to deliver or use a good or service.
That’s what your money is…that and nothing else.  It is a loan, a loan originated at a Central Bank and passed through many, many hands until it gets to you.  It is a promise to do something.  The Banks and government promise that others will accept that money “as payment for all debts, public and private.”  And you–the borrower–promise something too, that you will provide a good or service sufficient to have someone else trade that much money–their claims to loans–with you.
But no matter how many hands are involved, and regardless of how people value the goods and services for which they trade, it’s still just a loan.  It’s something you promise; it’s something you value; it’s something you think and choose.  If the loan is collaterized, then there is a good or service behind the loan, such that if one party defaults, then the good or service belongs to the other party.
At one time, money itself was collaterized, usually with gold.  This did not change the nature of a loan.  Through fractionalized banking, the relatively stable amount of collateral backed an ever-increasing supply of money.  So while the note said that it was a claim against gold, it wasn’t.  Like all loans, it was a claim for someone’s promise, in this case Central Banks and governments, to come up with the gold if necessary.  But there was far less gold than the amount collaterized, again owing to fractionalized banking.  In common lingo, we call that “cheating,” especially when you know you can outlaw the requirement to honor the collateral of the loan, if it ever comes to that.
It’s an old story—an unsuccessful con man becomes a successful strong-arm man.  On the societal level, we call this “order.”  But it only works orderly if everyone involved sticks to their promises.  We already know the Banks/government don’t stick to their promises.  They issue an ever-growing amount of money to denominate a population’s goods and services–and along the way make a profit just for issuing the loan in the first place–and are offering a claim not only on current goods and services, but future ones as well.  This is often the case with a loan.
Notice that the scam of ever-increasing loans would be immediately obvious were it not for taxes and the various sinkholes of governments.  While a government needs taxes for its own (claims to) goods and services, it also needs a way to take money “off the table,” so to speak, in order that nobody notices the insane growth of loans in circulation.  It does this at origination, whereby the issuance of the loan itself requires an ongoing fee, commonly called “interest.”  Through the never-ending issuance of money, and the associated interest that goes along with it, a certain amount of the ever-cycling money is paid as interest to the Central Banks.  As with a “rake” in a poker game, this keeps the money in circulation–on the table, we could call it–steady enough and low enough so that each participant is satisfied with what he believes will be his claim to goods and services.  Were it not for these “originating fees,” ultimately paid by taxes, the participants would quickly see that they are trading current labor for a promise of much less labor–via goods and services–in the future.  They would quickly say, “No deal.”
But they don’t, because a percentage of those claims are constantly funneled “off the table” through the simple waste of Government and especially through the never-ending charge for the origination of the loan.
None of that is the point of this essay.  All of that is about the denomination of goods and services, but it is not about the goods and services themselves.  That is “The Other Side of the Equation.”
However you denominate something–with beans, scrip, money, numbers alone, whatever–the relevant thing is what’s being denominated.  In a single word, that is called production.  Production is what we do to create goods and services.  Production is the action of obtaining goods, adding value and offering the products to others.  Production is the act of doing a service that others wish to have done.
While it’s no secret that our money has been tricked out, generally in order to have a claim against the future labor of future generations, that oddly doesn’t matter right now.  We’re all alive now; we can just ignore that for another day…which is good, because it’s not literally the money that will kill us or future generations.  Falling for the scam of the money, is what does that.
What matters right now is what’s being produced, and what will be produced.  It is this half of the equation, which presages the downfall of this society.
Around the world, production has been stifled on levels never before known in history.  Working is heavily penalized and not working is heavily subsidized.  When you penalize something, you get less of it; when you subsidize something, you get more of it.  Really, it’s quite that simple.  When a large part of a population doesn’t produce–and worse, sucks the production of others for their bare subsistence–the amount of total production goes down.  Duh.  Never mind the unconsumed production which can be used for even further production gains…those are called “investments” in a sane world.  These days, “investments” means “bets.”
And yes, you can add in the increased efficiency of technological advances, but that’s effectively a mulitplier constant.  That’s because this is what humans do—they create, they optimize, they figure out how to get more production out of the same time of labor.  Humans have been doing this since the dawn of the species.
When they stop doing that, for whatever reason, production dwindles.  This is the situation today.  Production is sucked away in order to be wasted by government, which is inevitably a less efficient use of goods and services.  Production is sucked away for the so-called “Free Shit Army.”  Producers are so fed up that many have withdrawn of their own free will and “gone Gulch.”  Whatever the causes, production–real production, not the denomination of production–has been declining for a long time now, in the USofA.
Perhaps most egregiously, because ultimately it’s all we have, the time for production is ever-dwindling, owing to the vast amounts of time and effort devoted to regulations and bureaucratic overhead.  An hour abiding a regulation is an hour not producing.  It goes on and on and on…the production of free-willed individuals, even those willing to offer it in trade for money, is going down.  And down and down and down.  It is only a matter of time, should this trend continue, that the production will not be sufficient to produce the bare sustenance of food, clothing and shelter.  Go look up “Holodomor” to see what happens then.
Notice that the denomination of this production doesn’t matter at all.  You could have ever-inflating money, ever-deflating money, gold, scrip, whatever…the only thing that matters is that a unit of production be what the trader believes it to be, and likewise the denomination be what it appears to be.  This is historically the scam of currency—it isn’t.
That’s all.  The issue of freedom is the issue of production.  Production is what we do.  And until men and women are free to do it–without regulation, without permission, without being forced to denominate it in fake loans for future slavery, without having the  results of their production sucked away by those who produce nothing at all–then nothing will change.  It will be an ever-growing claim against present and future slavery, until the slavery isn’t sufficient to even feed us any more.
How does one stop this madness?  Simple…produce for yourself and those for whom you wish to produce.  Accept whatever denomination that honest people agree to trade, or even no denomination at all.  That last would be “barter” and while not ideal for complex societies with massive division of labor, it may yet prove to be all we have left.  Till then, there’s lead, gold, silver, bitcoin and a thousand other choices.
Money is not inherently a scam.  Nothing is a scam until information is fraudulently offered or withheld.  But currency money is a scam right now, all the world over.  This is becoming widely known, so it’s only a matter of time until Central Bank money will no longer be accepted by free individuals in trade for their goods and services.  Hopefully that will stop the massive penalties for producing, and especially the theft of that production, called wealth, from those who produce.
It’s either that, or eventually we all starve.  Joe’s loan was not Joe’s lawnmower.  Money is not wealth.  Maybe things will change when this becomes widely recognized.  The Central Banks of the world may be able to make money worthless, but they can’t touch the creation of wealth without the producer’s consent.  That’s entirely, meaning literally 100%, up to the producer of it alone, and nobody else.
Out-good ‘em.  They’ll never see it coming cuz they don’t know what it looks like.

Things go on, until they can't - new lyrics by the Liberty Bard

Here are my newest lyrics if you are interested.  As always I'm looking to connet with like minded musicians who believe that music is the way to speak truth to power and get the sheep asking the right questions...

THINGS GO ON UNTIL THEY CAN'T - BY THE LIBERTY BARD

In the historical moment of an epic turning point,

When the world wonders which tyrant to anoint,

When you’re naked and ashamed with your dark worldview,

and the scorn of liberals is directed right at you.

There’s just one word that the truth need hear,

And that one word is simply persevere.

There are worse things in life than being somewhat late,

In predicting when collapse will leave us to our fate.

Inertia and fraud dictate how the system runs,

The complexity so vast is what makes it so much fun,

That much stuff in motion takes a while to stop,

We’re falling pretty fast while pretending we’re on top,

The freeways still hum and the lights stay on,

The people still party until the break of dawn,

The agri-bix still sends its amber waves of grain,

and tankers of corn syrup across the fruited plains.

But one day I know the world will validate my rant…

Cause things go on… until they can’t.

CHORUS:

Statists always glorify the state,

We could change but it’s a little late,

Inevitably they’ll come for the guns,

Cause Civil wars are always so much fun.

They believe that they know what is best,

Disagree and they’ll put you to the test,

Try to point out where their logics flawed

They’ll silence you with social shock and awe.

Misrepresentation of official statistics,

Systematic fraud leads to systematic risk

Re-hypothecation - money laundering,

Pump and dump, channel stuff - ethics wandering,

Innovation of swindles, interest rates rigged,

We can’t let you fail cause you’ve grown so big!

Front running, naked shorting secrets and intrigue,

Shadow banking thrives with cool chicanery

Fundamentally misprice the cost of currency

Destroy the free market so we can keep it free

This colossal armature of folly still stands,

Until God’s judgment sweeps across the land

So don’t feel bad when they treat you like a punk

Cause the truth will shine where their failed trust sunk.

Sooner or later reality and truth,

Will reset the calculation and validate the proof.

Crazy on a ship of fools so crazy on a ship of fools

Obamacare Ship of Fools
Jim Quinn
It was so fitting that Obama sauntered into the Rose Garden on April Fools day to proclaim the wonderful success of Obamacare. We are the fools for allowing this fool and his fellow fools in Congress to further bankrupt our country with this disastrous government run clusterf*ck. He is a dangerous empty suit. The only thing that mattered to him and his sociopathic control freaks in the last two months was hitting an enrollment number that he could tout as success. Making sure there are enough doctors in the plan or ensuring excellent healthcare services once you get sick is not part of their agenda. And they certainly don’t worry about the 7.1 million people paying their premiums. That’s the insurance companies’ problem.
Their is so much propaganda, spin, disinformation and outright lies circulating in the captured mainstream media that the dumbed down, distracted, disinterested American populace believe the sound bites from Obama and the talking heads on MSNBC and the rest of the Obama loving media. Isn’t it funny how early in  the disastrous roll-out of this joke Sebelius and her band of HHS drones didn’t know how many people had enrolled for weeks after the end of a month, but yesterday Obama knew that exactly 7.1 million people had enrolled within hours of the final deadline?
You may have noticed the non-stop 30 second ads trying to convince iGadget addicted morons to sign up for Obamacare over the last three months, building to a crescendo in the last few weeks. Obama was desperate to get young people and his black constituency to sign up. Most of the commercials were black NBA superstars yapping about the wonders of Obamacare. These were surely targeted to white middle class people. Right? Guess how much the average 30 second commercial costs. How about $123,000. The government has admitted their advertising budget for the last three months was $52 million. My guess is they went over budget and probably spent $75 million of your tax dollars to convince millions to join a government program that will cost you trillions more of your tax dollars. The original July 2013 estimate from the government for the total advertising of this mess was $700 million. I’ll take the over in the final number. This is after spending $600 million on the wonderful glitch free website.
Let’s assess the tremendous success  the Savior was blustering about yesterday. He sold the plan to the American public back in 2009 with a number of promises.
It won’t add one dime to the deficit
Our teleprompter reader in chief told the American people his plan would not add one dime to the deficit. After it passed he told Congress it would cost $900 billion over ten years. Then the CBO actually ran the numbers and it jumped to $1.4 trillion. What’s a $500 billion error among friends? That almost perfect accuracy for the Federal government. Of course the Democratic politicians that passed this wonderful bill delayed all the bad stuff until 2014 and after, while front loading all the good stuff.
They delayed the major spending provisions in order to show only six years of spending under the plan in the original 10-year budget window (from FY2010-19) used by CBO at the time the law was enacted. Therefore, the original estimate concealed the fact that most of the law's spending only doesn't even begin until four years into the 10-year window. A Senate Budget Committee analysis (based on CBO estimates and growth rates) finds that that total spending under the law will amount to at least $2.6 trillion over a true 10-year period (from FY2014–23). That’s a lot of dimes added to the deficit. Does $2.6 trillion sound like budget neutral to you? Of course we’re doing it for the children.
It will cover the 46 million uninsured Americans
The Census Bureau number of 46 million includes 10 million illegal immigrants. I know Obama wants to cover them on our dime, but even he will have trouble with that one. A report from the Kaiser Foundation put the number of true uninsured at 28.6 million. The CBO numbers and the Obama administration storyline were built on the assumption that everyone signing up for Obamacare was previously uninsured. Studies by the McKinsey Group and Rand Corporation have concluded that only 30% of all enrollees into Obamacare were previously uninsured.
The vast majority are previously insured people, many of whom are getting a better deal on the exchanges because they either qualify for subsidies, or because they're older individuals who benefit from the law's massive rate increases for the young. I know Obama loving liberals don’t like math and wish that Common Core feel good math could be applied to the Obamacare clusterf*ck, but here are the facts:
  • Supposedly 7.1 million people have signed up for Obamacare.
  • Approximately 30% of these people were previously uninsured – totaling 2.1 million people. That is only 7.3% of the uninsured people in the country. What about the 26.5 million people still uninsured? Obama spent all this money on advertising and only convinced 7.3% of the uninsured to sign up????
  • The Obama administration seems to be uninterested in whether the people who have signed up for Obamacare have actually paid their premium. The McKinsey survey found that the proportion of those who had formally enrolled in coverage, by paying their first month's premium, was considerably lower among the previously uninsured, relative to the previously insured. 86% of those who were previously insured who had "selected a marketplace plan" on the exchanges had paid, whereas only 53% of the previously uninsured had.
  • If you run the numbers, 5 million times 86% equals 4.3 million who have paid their premiums. Of the previously uninsured 2.1 million times 53% equals 1.1 million who have paid their premiums. Therefore, the true number of paying Obamacare enrollees is 5.4 million.
The skewed demographics implications will get worse over time, as the cost of plans continues to go up. In the McKinsey survey, of those who had decided not to sign up for Obamacare, the most common reason was the "affordability" of the offered plans. Indications from insurers like Aetna and WellPoint is that the premiums on the exchange will go up substantially next year. The demographic assumptions for the Obamacare enrollees are disastrous for the American taxpayer. It is skewed toward old sickly people, with very few young healthy people. The risk pool is how premiums are determined.
The LA Times painted the ominous picture for what will happen next year:
Long-term stability could be undermined if newly insured people do not pay their bills or if they drop coverage in coming months because they are unhappy about the high deductibles or narrow doctor and hospital networks some plans offer. Some people have had to pay higher premiums to replace old plans that did not comply with the law’s consumer standards.More ominously, some insurance industry officials are warning they may raise rates substantially next year. Major rate hikes could push out healthy consumers, undermining the law’s marketplaces and recharging political opposition.
Foolish conclusions
  • Obama and his Democratic minions (law passed without one Republican vote) have adjusted, delayed, and not enforced all the really bad stuff in this law until after the 2014 mid-term elections, with some really bad stuff delayed until after Hillary assumes power in 2016.
  • As usual the CBO estimate of $2.6 trillion will be off by 100% as the true cost will soar past $5 trillion. It will be the gift that keeps on giving, like Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Fannie Mae,  Freddie Mac, etc.
  • The risk pool will be so skewed towards older sicker Americans that premiums will skyrocket by 20% per year over the next few years, making many of the enrollees drop it altogether.
  • The millions who end up not paying their premiums to the insurance companies will be subsidized by the paying customers of the insurance companies because we are rich and need to help the poor. Obama will punish insurance companies that tell the truth about non-payment by the dregs.
  • The government has taken control of our healthcare system under the auspices of covering the millions of uninsured. The fact that 93% of the uninsured remain uninsured after the rollout reveals that this has been nothing but a socialistic power grab by Obama and the people who want to control every aspect of our lives.
  • The promised $2,500 annual savings in premiums for the average family seems unlikely to materialize as premiums for the average family have risen by 30% to 50% since 2009.
  • The if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor promise seems to be ringing hollow as millions have been forced out of their existing plans and now have much less choice of plan and doctor options.
  • The millions of math challenged drones who believed Obama and have focused solely on the monthly premiums evidently don’t understand that deductibles on the lowest level plan average $5,000 and go as high as $12,000 drive the true cost much higher. I hope they don’t get sick or injured.
I hope you enjoyed being Obama’s fool on April 1. They say a fool is born every minute. Obama and his minions are counting on it.

The war on weather - a logical analysis of elitist propaganda on climate change

This is my response to someone who called my a conspiracy theorist for doubting "global warming" or "climate change or whatever it is they call it nowadays.  I broke down point by point the article he posted to clearly show the fearmongering and unfactual emotional appeal to the masses to get them to support their carbon taxation schemes.  I think it's a good exercise in logic.

Here is a song I wrote when I used to believe their lies.  It's a good song, but I have to rewrite some of the lyrics to expose their propaganda.

I responded to his juveline name calling where he called me the Liberty Tard by pointing out some facts and then he said I was just a conspiracy theorists - here is my response.

DO NOT BACK DOWN FROM THESE LIARS AND PROPAGANDA ARTISTS

RESIST AT EVERY OPPORTUNITY!!!!

Oh you mean like the conspriracy theory that the NSA was listening in on everyone's conversations - oh wait that turned out to be true didn't it?  These are not conspiracy theories my friend, they are facts.  The elitists who control the strings at the top use the phrase conspiracy theories to try to discredit anyone who speaks truth to power and tries to point out there many lies and show truth to the people.  There are many truths that have been labeled as conspiracy theories my friend.  Listen, I understand that your heart is in the right place, you want to do right by our planet, I get that, I'm right there with you.  But please consider the solution that they are offering.  They want to enforce another level of taxation based upon every person's carbon footprint.  They also want to create an international government so that we can all pay an international tax on top of our Federal tax and our state tax and our sales tax.

Look man, these are just money grabs by the higher ups.  I read the article on your google blog(dissected below).  It did not contain any actual facts, it was simply an emotional appeal, claiming that if you were a good person and cared about our planet then you would support their ideas.  Again, no facts, no conclusive proof that climate change is caused by humans.  It's not caused by humans, it's just not.  The climate has changed since this planet has existed that is what planets do, they go from cold extremes to hot extremes.

I would argue the the sun has a much more direct effect on our climate than humans do.  Listen humans are insignificant to this planet if humans were to cease to exist on the Earth tomorrow the Earth would begin the gradual process of healing itself and in time there would be no evidence of human effect on it.

Again, I think you are a good person who is interested in this stuff for the right reasons.  However, please look back on your schooling, that IS run by our government and think about how much they pushed "saving the planet" on your generation.  You have to ask the question why.  That's all I'm asking is for you to dig a little deeper and quit accepting everything that you read being pushed by the government as fact.

Look at who they quoted.  The head of the WHO and the World Bank, both run by the UN who stands to profit mightily from carbon taxation.  These people have been planning these types of taxation schemes for decades.  Don't believe me - do a google search on the Federal Reserve, the Rothchilds and how the Federal Reserve was founded in secret - The Creature from Jekyl Island is a great synopsis of how the higher ups secretively got together and had a plan to create this bank that would steal from us, the people, every year through inflation.

Did you know that this Federal Reserve is actually the third Federal Bank that the US has created.  Read some history on why the first two were shut down.

Look, it's easy to dismiss me as some crazy lunatic fringe conspiracy theory guy.  But dude, I'm a father of five kids and a financial analyst.  I have been a CPA for over 15 years.  I know what I'm talking about.

If you met me I am a fun person who you would enjoy hanging out with having a beer with.  I'm just a normal person who is fed up with their lies.

All I'm asking is that you do a little more reserach on climate change.  Remember how they used to call it global warming and predicted drastic temperature changes by this time 15 years ago?  No well they did.  Their models have been proven wrong and now they are shifting their argument trying to blame every weather related event on climate change.  Climate's change however human activity has very little effect on the climate.  That's no conspiracy, that's a fact Jack.

My next response where I critically break down the climate change call to arms article:

To be more specific - from the article posted - the IPCC’s new report should leave the world in no doubt about the scale and immediacy of the threat to human survival, health, and wellbeing.
Where are the facts - they simply say it should leave no doubt implying that anyone who doubts what they are saying should be branded as a crazy conspiracy theorist - this is a blatent emotional appeal capitalizing on the fact that they already know you believe them and that what you are doing by promoting thier lies is a noble thing that is in effect saving the world.  They are playing to your ego.

Next - This month, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) added its voice: “the well being of people of all nations [is] at risk.”2 Such comments reaffirm the conclusions of the Lancet/UCL Commission: that climate change is “the greatest threat to human health of the 21st century.”3

OK so who is the AAAS?  These are scientists who are paid by... wait for it, wait for it - government grants.  In other words, you write what we tell you and you get your grant money if you don't then you will be portrayed as crazy and will not get any govt money.

Again - here they say greatest threat to human health.  How?  Why?  Because some people are being displaced by shifting water on this planet.  This has always happened and is not caused by any human activity.  Here again they use an emotional appeal to create fear and make you think - I must do something against this threat without specifically explaining the threat and what caused it.  There are many hints and accusations as to what caused it but there is no proof.

Next - The changes seen so far—massive arctic ice loss and extreme weather events, for example—have resulted from an estimated average temperature rise of 0.89°C since 1901.

First of all, they were predicting that the arctic would lose all of it's ice by 2013.  That didn't happen and as a matter of fact the ice has increased by over 65% in the past year.  Check it man, it's a fact.

Here again they blame normal weather occurences that may be extreme but are not so far outside the statistical markers as to be considered rare.  These weather events happen and it's not caused by humans.  Again if you think it is show me hard concrete evidence.  You can't because there is none.

Oh wow an average increase of almost a whole degree in a century.  So what?  This doesn't even register as a blip on temperature differentials throughout history.  It's not even statistically outside of the norm.  They predicted much higher increases in temperature 20 years ago when they made up this scheme to generate profits.  Al Gore made billions off of these lies.

NEXT - Further changes will depend on how much we continue to heat the planet. The release of just another 275 gigatonnes of carbon dioxide would probably commit us to a temperature rise of at least 2°C—an amount that could be emitted in less than eight years.4

Notice the hedging on these statements - will depend, would probably, could be emitted.  There are no scientific facts here.  They are trying to predict the future but they have already been wrong in predicting the future.

Next - “Business as usual” will increase carbon dioxide concentrations from the current level of 400 parts per million (ppm), which is a 40% increase from 280 ppm 150 years ago, to 936 ppm by 2100, with a 50:50 chance that this will deliver global mean temperature rises of more than 4°C. It is now widely understood that such a rise is “incompatible with an organised global community.”5

Ok so a 40% increase in carbon dioxide over 150 years?  Again so what?  Another hedge - 50/50 chance.  "widely understood"  Widely understood by who?  By the same scientists that are being paid through government grants.  There are many scientists who dispute these reports and they are not paid by big oil, no matter what they tell us.

During the last actual ice age, carbon dioxide levels were much much higher than they are now and it did not effect the planet the way that they claim.  Also some scientists are noting a steady decrease in temperatures now and think that the increase noted above is actually helping to offset these decreases and that in actuality we are heading towards another mini ice age.  Caused by nothing but the cycles the Earth naturally goes through over time.

Next - The IPCC warns of “tipping points” in the earth’s system, which, if crossed, could lead to a catastrophic collapse of interlinked human and natural systems. The AAAS concludes that there is now a “real chance of abrupt, unpredictable and potentially irreversible changes with highly damaging impacts on people around the globe.”2

Again no facts, just fearmongering - oh watch out for those nasty tipping points.  More hedging - concludes that there is now a real chance - again this may happen, but in twenty years when it doesn't happen they look back and say well we weren't sure it would happen we said that there was a chance it could happen.  Do you see how easy it is to dissect through their propaganda if you read it critically?

Next - And this week a report from the World Meteorological Office (WMO) confirmed that extreme weather events are accelerating. WMO secretary general Michel Jarraud said, “There is no standstill in global warming . . . The laws of physics are non-negotiable.”6

Again - no facts, just a blanket statement that global warming exists, please just believe me if I say it over and over again eventually you will believe me.  Unfortunately, this type of propaganda works.

And look who the quote is from - A WHO official.  How does this guy get paid?  Does he stand to benefit if we impose carbon taxes upon the richer countries in the world to help the poorer countries deal with the effects of "global warming"?  Of course he does.  Who do you think the carbon taxes get paid to?  The UN of which the WHO is a branch.  This dude stand to make millions if they can pass carbon taxes, so of course he is going to say that.

Next - This is an emergency. Immediate and transformative action is needed at every level: individual, local, and national; personal, political, and financial. Countries must set aside differences and work together as a global community for the common good, and in a way that is equitable and sensitive to particular challenges of the poorest countries and most vulnerable communities.

Again no facts, just an emotional appeal for richer countries like the US to pay a tax to help the poorer countries.  They always frame the argument this way, we have to do it to help out the less fortunate and then when you disagree with their scheme to rob us, they make us out to be the bad guys.  I'm not the bad guy man I promise you that.

Next - What we all do matters, not least in how it influences others. Those who profess to care for the health of people perhaps have the greatest responsibility to act. And there are signs of action being taken. Within the health system, organisations and health facilities are reducing their carbon footprint. Barts Health NHS Trust has, for example, reduced its energy bill by 43% since 2009. The president of the World Bank, Jim Yong Kim, himself a public health physician, has called for divestment from fossil fuels and investment in green energy.7 We should all respond.

Here is the biggest red flag - those who profess to care for the health of people have the greatest responsibility to act.  Here they play on your ego and your real desire to do something worthwhile by telling you that if you support their cause it is worthwhile and that if you want to be considered a caring person then you have a responsibility to help them implement their taxation schemes.  Again - another quote from who?  You guessed it the president of the World Bank. Who runs the world bank?  The United Nations.

And of course the last sentence - we should all respond.  Subtle propaganda reinforcing your belief that you are doing good and that you must respond to their appeal.

Do you see the pattern yet my friend?

Next - So what can health professionals do? Firstly, we should push our own organisations (universities, hospitals, primary care providers, medical societies, drug and device companies) to divest from fossil fuel industries completely and as quickly as possible, reinvest in renewable energy sources, and move to “renewable” energy suppliers. Secondly, we should each use whatever influence we have to change the minds and behaviour of others who are in positions of influence.

Now hear they want you to push your workplace to "do the right thing" and support their taxation schemes.  We cannot divest from fossil fuels quickly, it has to be done slowly in a transitional phase or our economy will collapse.  You cannot just take out the one thing OIL that we all rely on and NEED without causing a massive disruption to our current system.  Are there better alternatives - Yes, see Nicolas Tesla for some great ideas.  Unfortunately when he died the govt went in and took all his patents for energy alternative so that the government could continue to collect huge taxes from the oil industry.  The technology exists to replace the current oil system.  Not a theory, this is a fact, do some research on Tesla.

I really don't like this angle of pushing employees to push their employers to support schemes that in many cases would be counterproductive for their employer's business model.  This is simply disgusting and a good way to get fired if you push to hard against a boss that understands this propaganda.

Next - Thirdly, we need to build an alliance of medical and other health professionals to speak clearly to the public, the media, governments, and intergovernmental bodies to provide a strong and unified message—that climate change is real and is the result of human activity; that it is already affecting people around the world and is the greatest current threat to human health and survival; and that there are many positive and practical things we can do systematically and at scale to avert its worst effects.8

Again help us push our agenda, you will be a hero, you are doing the right thing, something must be done or we will all die. Straight up fearmongering.  A strong and unified message - regardless if the message is not supported by facts.

FEARMONGERING - PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

When the actual report comes out I will read it critically and sort through the lies.

Like I said earlier I was a BIG beleiver in these lies a couple of years ago but then I started reading other media besides NBC, CBS & CNN and after reading both sides I can clearly see which side the truth resides on.

The question is - do you want your children and grandchilden to pay a tax for every breath they take, because that is where this is heading.

I hope you take what I'm saying seriously, I hope that my dissection of the article you posted clearly shows the propaganda.  Either way I wish you the best of luck in the upcoming hard times.

2 maps - both hilarious - worth a look

Europe Mapped According To The Germans (And The Russians)

Tyler Durden's picture

As Acting-Man's Pater Tenebrarum notes, a recent Der Spiegel article highlights the fact that in spite of the fact that Russia and especially Putin are demonized with great verve in the Western media (including Germany's), it seems German citizens from all walks of life and all political camps are highly devoted fans of Russia and its president. As the following two maps show, "Europe" means a lot of different things to the Germans and the Russians.
How The Germans see Europe...

And how The Russians see it...

It's not about saving the world it's about enslaving humanity

IPCC’s doom-and-gloom global warming apocalypse is political theater, not real science

Mike Adams
Natural News
April 1, 2014
The IPCC has just released its latest “Apocalypse Now” report(1), threatening all humankind with imminent self-destruction if industrial output of CO2 is not immediately and drastically curbed. The UN global government report concludes that global warming is “severe, pervasive and irreversible,” a position which seems to be little more than a foregone death sentence for the human race, even if drastic changes are made right now.

As head of a research laboratory myself — I was the first scientist to discover industrial tungsten contamination in superfoods – I share the overall concern about humankind’s impact on the global ecosystem. Yet an intelligent look at the IPCC’s report reveals it to be based on selective, cherry-picked science, the wild exaggeration of Earth’s historical cycles, a bizarre ignorance of plant physiology and how CO2 helps restore deserts to farmlands, and the willful ignoring of far greater threats to humankind such as GMO pollution, heavy metals contamination and the resource extraction model driving our entire global economy.
The IPCC’s doom-and-gloom report, in other words, looks like theater, not science. As part of that theater, the National Science Foundation actually awarded $700,000 for the production of what’s being called “Climate Change: The Musical!” (2)
And it’s theater being put on for a specific purpose: to frighten the world’s populations and national leaders into surrendering to global dictatorial control over national economies. If nations can be swept into a system where all forms of economic activity are tightly controlled by global dictators — including transportation, industry, agriculture and even cow ranching — then all power has been usurped by the globalists.
Remember: the IPCC is not saying, “we should all act locally to reduce CO2 emissions” as responsible citizens and communities. No, the IPCC is functioning as a propaganda branch of the UN, which is saying something far more sinister: “Put us in control of your national economies, where we decide how much CO2 you are ALLOWED to emit” (and pay us taxes, to boot!).
That’s a very different proposition, and it smacks of a dictatorial power grab using junk science as a weapon of extreme fear to bring the population in line.
The UN goal is to enslave humanity under a system of dictatorial control
The goal of the global warming alarmists is not to save humanity but to enslave it. And accomplishing this task requires some truly mind-bending warped science interwoven with social engineering fear tactics. In effect, the IPCC function a lot like a terrorist organization because it spreads fear and terror in order to achieve its political goals. (Look it up, that’s the definition of a terrorist.)
There’s also a whole lot of dishonest social engineering taking place in the global push for UN domination of all world economies. Global warming believers, for example, have resorted to using the term “climate denialists” against anyone who doesn’t agree with their distorted science. The very phrase is intellectually dishonest, as it implies that certain people don’t believe in the existence of the climate at all.
It’s kind of like if I say that water contains unlimited free energy, but you express skepticism about water as free energy, so then I call you a “water denialist” as if you don’t even believe in the existence of water. That’s the kind of deceptive linguistics now being pushed by global warming dictators-to-be.
With each passing day, the whole global warming scheme feels more and more like a “shove it down your throat” mandate, much like Obamacare which tried to shove high-priced health insurance down all our throats. If you thought Obamacare was bad, just wait until the UN rolls out “Climate Care” and forces you to pay a monthly fee for breathing, farting and driving, all of which release greenhouse gases. Do them all at the same time — if you are so coordinated — and you get triple-taxed!
Plant use of CO2 utterly ignored by IPCC
When carbon dioxide levels rise in the atmosphere, plant life explodes to tap into that CO2 and convert it into oxygen and other byproducts of plant metabolism. This is why higher CO2 levels will result in massive global reforestation of former deserts and arid areas. There will be a global explosion of crop yields and an abundance of food for everyone.
Want proof? CO2 generators are routinely installed in greenhouses to accelerate plant growth and increase food production. The higher the CO2 in the greenhouse air, the more rapidly the plants grow and produce food. This is a scientific fact that even the IPCC can’t make go away.
In fact, here’s an advertisement for a greenhouse CO2 generator which enables “maximum growing potential” and “increases production.”

Yes, higher CO2 levels increase food production precisely because most food-producing crops are constantly starved for CO2.
Yet the IPCC, in its doom-and-gloom report, claims that higher CO2 levels will reduce food production and cause global food shortages. It says there is “Risk of food insecurity linked to warming, drought, and precipitation variability, particularly for poorer populations.”
As you might have already noticed, every flood, drought, rain storm, cold spell, hot day, cold day and gentle breeze gets automatically attributed to “global warming” almost as if the Earth never had any weather at all until global warming became a concern. If the sun comes up tomorrow, it must be because of global warming! And if it’s a cloudy day, that’s global warming, too! There were no weather extremes on our planet, we are foolishly led to believe, before the age of modern industry.
Wishy washy science
This “weather blame game” is of course pronounced to be “scientific” and therefore irrefutable. But where is the science, really? Weather events are extraordinarily complex, requiring vast supercomputers running 24/7 in order to make laughably bad predictions for the evening news weather report. Climate data is so wishy washy that a person can cherry pick almost any “science” they want out of the data.
Using one particular point of view on the data, I could “scientifically prove” that darkness causes ice, or that sunlight destroys food crops. With enough historical data, almost anyone could carve out supporting data for any theory imaginable: when trees wave, it causes the wind to blow!
Climate science is so poorly understood that anyone calling global warming “conclusive” is kidding themselves. It’s no more conclusive than the loony idea that life exists nowhere else in the universe except on planet Earth, and we know that because Earth is the only place where we’ve found life. An absence of refuting data does not conclusive prove the truth of the limited set of data you’ve chosen to consider.
Total alarm over global warming, total silence on GMOs
Thank goodness US Secretary of State John Kerry has cleared everything up for us with his scientific brilliance, saying the costs of inaction would be “catastrophic,” adding:
Unless we act dramatically and quickly, science tells us our climate and our way of life are literally in jeopardy. Denial of the science is malpractice. (3)
But denial, of course, is exactly how the White House handles the issue of genetic pollution from GMO crops. It’s how Obama deals with the issue of GMO labeling, mercury in dental amalgams, mercury in vaccines or even the toxicity of aspartame (which has recently been linked to increased death risk in women). Denial is the entire philosophy of the federal government when it comes to the national debt, too. And a collapse into economic ruin is likely to be far more catastrophic than rising CO2 levels — but they keep on spending us into oblivion anyway, in total denial of economic reality. Will Kerry now admit this is “economic malpractice?”
When it comes to real science, the White House is practically the Ministry of Denial! All the other threats to human life — the GMO food supply, toxic medicines, toxic pesticides and toxic industry — are routinely ignored by default. Global warming is magically selected for scrutiny only because it serves the power centralization goals of global power brokers, not because people like John Kerry or Barack Obama suddenly feel irresistible urges to act in the long-term interests of humankind and the ecosystem.
If they really felt that humanity needed to be saved from catastrophic collapse, they would protect the power grid from solar flares, for starters. They would outlaw genetically engineered seeds to help prevent catastrophic genetic pollution and “ecocide” collapse. They might even outlaw toxic cancer-causing chemicals in the food supply like sodium nitrite, found in nearly all processed meats.
Any claim that world leaders have suddenly become incredibly concerned about the future of humankind if pure, laughable theater. Whether there’s real science backing global warming or not, politicians have no interest in the real science anyway. All they are interested in is concentrating their power over humanity, and if an invocation of scary-sounding global warming can help them crush freedom and seize control over world economies, then that’s their game plan!
Their call to “save humanity” is just a ploy for control. It’s not a true spiritual calling for these people. If it were, they would be warning about all the other threats to humanity that conflict with the profits of big business (such as genetically modified seeds and mercury in vaccines).
